Default 2003 Door Lock Units

Hello to All,

The door locks on my 03 Accord 4 door sedan have both failed!
I cannot insert the key to unlock the drivers side door and the lock plunger on the front passenger has fallen into the door.

My question is that this vehicle does not have "power door locks"
I want to order the replacement actuators before commencing my repair.

Do I order the same unit as if I had power door locks?

Thanks in advance

What trim level is your car (DX, LX, etc.)?

If the car has manual locks and does not have power door locks, then power door lock actuators are not applicable for your car.

The cause of the problems need to be identify before ordering parts. For example, the driver's side could be due to something with the lock cylinder, cable, or the latch. The passenger side could be due to the lock cable or the latch, etc.

Hi, thanks for the response.

What I am trying to avoid is pulling the unit out, appraise it, reinstall, order parts, re-pull, replace ( vehicle cannot sit waiting for parts if not locally obtainable). If I knew that the unit used is the same as the one used in powered door locks (minus power lock circuitry) that's the way I want to go!

This does appears to be a common field problem. Would Honda make three different lock units in the door based on trim level?

I believe the key lock cylinder on the drivers side is shot, and in need of replacement, obtaining it and visiting a locksmith to re-key prior to install is the way to go.

Thanks.
