I looked in the shop manual,and started to change the engine filter element. After detaching several components I started to think that Honda would not do this to us. I could not get the top cover out of the way so I put things back together. I looked at the manual again,and there are two topic headings. Remove air cleaner,and replace air cleaner. I read remove rather the replace. Just the 4 hold down screws,and pust the cover toward the engine,and replace. Just like it said. Duhh. We all make mistakes,and no harm in letting others know about it so maybe they don't repeat same.

a "basic" problem is only "basic" if it's something you've done a lot... a professonal racer would say you just "basically" drive the car good and you win....honest mistake, easy to do. Glad you got it figured out though!
