Default 2003 honda accord: touch screen input not working.

I have a 2003 Honda accord. My navigation system DVD drive (located in the trunk) was broken and was not able to read the navigation CD. So i fixed the DVD drive (at a local car electronics shop). Now i see the start screen and it asks me to enter the Navi Code. But the problem is, the touch screen is not working right. Only the bottom half of the screen is working and i am not able to type in the code or click on done. Should i recalibrate the screen? If yes how do i do it. Please help.

You should run the self diagnostics for the nav system. The system itself can do its own diagnostics which will give you the trouble code so you can try and figure out the problem.

Since i changed the battery, the first screen that comes up is the "Enter the Navi code" screen. So Im not sure how to access the self diagnostics section. Do you have any idea how to access the self diagnostics?

Looking at shop manual, it does not appear possible to progress if you can't initialize w/ the security code.

It says to get the security code before:
1) disconnecting battery
2) disconnecting Nav unit 8p connector
3) removing No 7 (10A) fuse from under dash fuse box.

Not clear if the sequence should be followed or this is warning that any of these will require resetting security code.

Suggest trying to disconnect battery, waiting a few mins, and trying again.

Diagnostic chart suggests that if nav buttons or touch screen does not work properly you may have display unit fault, wrong color DVD installed, or harness/fuse/switches problem.

Suggest you purchase your own FSM. Check automanualsource.com for a download manual for $22.

good luck
