Default 2004 Accord Blower motor stopped working

My 2004 Accord EX blower just stopped working. I have checked all fuses and all appear OK. When I first hit the A/C button, I hear the A/C try to turn on, then cuts right off. If I turn the fan to any position, I get nothing. I have tried cycling the switch to recirculate the air, and I can hear the motor moving the ducting, however the fan will not turn at all. I have read that its possibly the resistor, and that I should try and hook the motor up directly to a 12V source to see if that turns on the motor. How do I do this? I think I know where the resistor is, next to the blower. If I remove it, how can I tell if its bad? Should I just buy a new one and try it?

You should be able to pull the power plug to the motor and measure the voltage accros the two terminals to see if the motor is getting power. It should vary depending on the fan speed setting. You can try the caveman test for a bad motor, by hitting the bottom of the motor to see if it turns on.
