2004 honda accord. door lock issue
ok guys im new to this forum. the name is zach. i am a light line and maintenance technician for ford motor company. so my honda knowledge is fairly basic but im not stupid. so my problem is this. my mother just bought a 2004 honda accord ex 4 cyl. i-vtec. she already signed off on the car and she brings it home. i look it over...it looks ok but i go to test all the equipment that should have been tested in the used car inspection and come to find that the door locks only unlock and they will not lock the vehicle from the key fob or inside the vehicle. the vehicle will attempt to lock the doors but will not lower the locks. so my question is why would the vehicle unlock but not lock . ?? am i looking a door lock relay or module gone bad? i checked the fuse for the door locks under the dash and its ok. so any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

Is this happening when the door is shut or open. Will not lock when the door is open unless I hold the inside door handle open to prevent you from locking your keys in the car. The new ones might have the same idiot-proof system.

well the doors are closed and im in the vehicle key in the on position. door locks only unlock and will not lock. even the key fob only unlocks. kind of strange. the driver door jam switch only unlocks as well

It might be a weak lock motor because it takes more work on the motors part to lock the door than it does to unlock it. Mine does the same thing on my drivers side but if I hold my handle halfway open it locks but makes some weird sound. But anyway that might be your problem

My 2003 is doing the same thing. Only unlocks. No sound coming when I press the unlock bottom inside or on fob. All 4 doors don't lock. UnLocks without any issue.
I checked the fuse and the driver door jam are ok. I would like to purchase the correct part any ideas?? If any one can any one confirm the weak lock motor as the culprit? If so what part do I need and any tips on how to change it?
