If the FOB is locking/unlocking other doors, that is not the problem.

Do you have the same locking/unlocking problems when you are able to turn the key in the driver's door? How about with the interior lock/unlock button?
The fob unit does not unlock or lock any of the doors. When I hit the unlock button on the fob, the lights on the car flash so it seems to be getting communication. When I hit the lock and unlock button on the door, the 3 other doors will lock and unlock, just not the driver side door.

Well part of the trouble was the battery need replaced in the fob. Lights still flashed but not strong enough to unlock any doors. With a new battery, the fob will unlock and lock the 3 other doors, just not the driver side door.

Does the mechanical post lock/unlock the driver's door?

The problem can be the lock actuator, wiring, or the driver's side door switch. My shop manual is on my home computer, so I don't have access.

The way to test is to remove the driver's door panel and unplug the actuator connector. You can connect a test light across the connector and try locking/unlocking the door. If the light flashes when you try locking/unlocking, then the actuator should be replaced.

My thought is it's an electro mechanical problem,or an actuator (might be kaput) in other words, or the wiring to it... broken wire or no power to the actuator.

If you have to wiggle the key to unlock the door, I would lubricate with some wd40 first, before doing any other testing, since it is a good idea anyway, and so easy.
