It depends on whether it is a 4 or a 6 cylinder. Given the lack of information the one thing that I would be checking is that gear selector button on the shifter is properly engaging. They sometimes get dirty and stick. Also, it is rare that a honda won't go into either forward or reverse so I am wondering if there is a problem with he shift linkage(s). Be sure that the fluid level is at max. If the fluid level is too low the torque converter won't engage thus not allowing the transmission to go into gear.

The cost will vary depending on if it is the transmission or something else noted above. Please provide information on the type of engine and I will check with a mechanic I know in Richmond, VA and see if he knows of any good shops in northern VA.

Thanks for replies. I'm gonna have to get it towed to specialist today. I fear its blown, but will get honest assessment. V6, auto, fluid good, no noises, just no go. I was reading about these trans and the torque converters going bad. If I find out what when wrong, I'll post. Thx

When you say it will not go into gear, do you mean the shift lever is stuck in P, or will the car not move when you get the shift lever in D4?

Report is torque converter let go and ruined the trans. So complete rebuild on its way. All over but the crying now.
