Default 2004 V6 Accord No go when trying to.

So the accord after about 30-40 minutes of driving starts to act like it is in neutral when you hit the gas to keep moving. Almost like it slipped out of gear but it hasnt. Eventually, it stops working all together and no gears work. You have to pull over and shut it off for about 15 minutes. I am thinking something is getting hotter then it should be in the transmission but I do not know where to start. Maybe it is just the tranny is going out but it seems to be perfect till it gets warm after about 30-40 mintues. Please offer any ideas you may have.

Take it by a parts store that reads codes for free and get the actual code from them ("P0740" for example) and not their description.

Have you checked the fluid level using the proper procedure and also check the condition of the fluid - when was it last changed and what type of fluid was used?
