Default 2005 Honda Accord radio does not work?

This seems to be a known problem. At first the car would turn off and leave the radio display on (i.e. station number, etc but no sound...I pulled the #5 fuse put it in...this would fix it and work for a few days then it would happen again. Eventually, the radio stopped working. The cd light stays green (i.e. means a cd is in the bay) and the display would light up but with no info and no sound. Looking for ideas.

Could you maybe post a picture of the symptoms?

Not much to take a picture of....the radio readout is "blank" and no sounds, but at night the backlight on it works. Any help would be appreciated.

I have read here some other owners had similar problems with the Honda factory radios. The fix was to have the dealer enter the reset code needed for the radio to function properly. I don't know if this would apply to yours or not...Or which model years require the reset code entry.

If you do a search on this forum or the internet, it is probable due to faulty printed circuit board (pcb).

Alpine makes the stereos on the accords. Call Alpine of America at 800-421-2284 and ask them if they can fix your problem. It will cost around $160 plus shipping.
