Default 2006 Oil Change automatic detection

I just bought a 2006 Accord. I read the manual and tried to look for the recommended miles between oil change. It looks like the new Accord detects when you need oil change. You can press the select button on the dashboard to see the life of the oil. When it reaches 15%, you will get an alert when you start the car. How is this done? Has any 2006 Accord owner seen this alert light?

It is also in the Ridgeline, 06 Pilot and the 05+ Oddessy. The ECM calculate the time based on your driving habits. It will also inform you of when to get specific service work done by displaying a series of A,B, or C with a 1,2,3,4, or 5. Each stands for particular items to be done. It is intended to help save customers money buy having them do service work they onley need when they need it. Ex. You do a lot of stop and go driving you will have brake inspections more often than if you drive highway miles. The nice feature is that it adapts on the go so that if your habits change it will adjust the interval. You may have an oil change in 5000 miles but then go 7000 or only 3000 the next. It all depends on how you drive.

I think it was done because many people do not pay attention to the maintenence schedule, especially if it is a lease. Wait until yoiu get the low air pressure sensors in the tires for 08. Another item where people do nothing until a problem arises. This does not apply to most people here, as we do pay attention.
