This may sound strange but I'm wondering if it is normal. I've noticed on several occasions that I get a short blast of extra cold air out of the panel when I make a sharp left hand turn. It may do it with a right hand turn as well but it clearly happens with a left hander as I have noticed it the past two nights taking the kids to football/cheerleading practice. Not sure if the fan speed picks up or if it is just colder air coming out.

Would this be related possibly to the tension on the serpentine belt and hence the compressor while making a turn? Just curious as to why it does it. The AC works fine but just noticed this oddity.

 

I think that your inclination is right. Likely the extra load on the serpentine belt from making the turn, but that is just my guess too.
