2007 Accord Autotrans downshifting
Hello Fellow Accordians..
I recently purchased a 2007 Accord EX(v6) auto trans with 51k miles on it.
I find it weird that if I coast down from high speeds(say 50+) with foot off the Accel and Brake pedal, the car downshifts at 35mph and 25mph a bit harshly with my RPMs falling to about 1500 or so and going back up at each of those shift points and giving a jerky feeling.. No CEL lamps.
I am especially more worried about it since if I happen to unknowingly press the Accel pedal at one of those harsh shift points; car takes off aggressively. Dealer says its not a issue. (still under warranty - read footnote for lengthy explanation).
My question is:
1) Do you guys think this is normal with new accords?
2) Is there a way for me to record the Engine RPM and the event (export it to excel so I can graph it out.)
Foot Note:
I took it to a dealer(my car still has a couple of months of warranty left) and they at first mentioned that they see the issue and cannot figure it out. Later after a couple of days(after consultation with the honda tech) they say the car is fine and that is how all hondas work. I guess they were told by honda techline not to work on the car untill warranty expires.

It sounds more like Honda's grade logic at work, which would be relatively normal.
On my 2009 Accord, the grade logic was much more pronounced coasting on steep freeway drops in comparison to my previous older Accord.
I noticed that each time after I change the fluid using Honda's new DW-1 fluid, the shifts are much smoother and less pronounced especially coasting at the same freeway spots. You might try having the ATF fluid changed to DW-1.

Thanks redbull for that quick response..
I forgot to mention- This happens to me on absolute flat roads.. does grade logic work on flat roads?
My old 2000 accord v6 auto trans, had a much smoother trans while downshifting on the same raods :P ( I sold it ).. Although I have no experience driving my car on hilly/slopy areas since I never drove in such places..
