Default 2007 Accord Issue

My rear window defroster works intermittently. Usually when I start my car it doesn't work. After I drive for a few minutes and press the switch several times... it works.
I'm thinking I have a faulty switch. Agree? How do I replace the switch myself?

I'm going to move this to General Tech. The new-user area is mostly for welcome & introduction things.

I don't have a wiring diagram for 2007, but I bet there's a relay for you to check also. That would switch the high current & be more likely to have problems like burned contacts. You should be able to swap any relay with the same arrangement of blades, to see if the problem moves to a different device.

See attached wiring diagrams. Your 07 should be similar.

The panel switch is not replaceable and is part of Audio/HvAC unit.

However, the defogger relay is a more likely intermittent component and should be easy to replace (under hood fuse box). Suggest replacing this component first.

You can confirm rest of components by checking (test light to fuse contact pts)fuse 2 (underhood fuse box) for power when defogger is commanded On. If power not available when defogger commanded on, then switch, wire, or other component is faulty. If power available, the defogger relay is problem.

good luck
