Default 2007 accord trans question or issue?

I have new 2007 honda accord. Had it since 8/2007.
I don't know if it is common for hondas or not. But I describe the situation here. Let you experts diagnos for me.
Basically ever since I got the car, the engine rpm doesn't slow down when car is sliding and gas off. For example, on highway I take my foot off the gas while the car goes at 60 miles/hour. The engine speed wont change at all. It will drop as the car slow down. Among all the cars I have driven, this car gives me the feeling that it slows down much fasterwhen sliding. In another word, it's not smooth.
It is more obviouse when I go down a slope. The engine rpm will go from ~1200 to ~2000 as the car speeds up (w/o gas). My feeling is that the transmission is dragging the engine along, or the wheels are dragging the transmission along, or whatever you guys explain it. There is a huge resistance to going forward is what I feel. As the car slows down to probably ~35 miles/hour, I can feel a sudden release from the resistance. The car move much smoother.
When the car goes up hill, if release the gas the rpm will return to ~1000.
Went to the honda dealer, the arrogant mechanic doesn't care to explain me more than it's "normal", "it's the great logic transmission". And he assured me by "being in the business for 10 years".

Sorry for blabing so much, craving for an anwser. There is no other problems with the car. there is only 10000 miles on the car.
Thanks
