2007 Remote trunk release problem
Hi All,
I have a 2007 Accord SE V6. Recently a problem began where the trunk will not unlatch from the key fob. I can hear the solenoid activate when I press the button, but the trunk does not open. The manual release from inside the car works fine.
Any idea what the problem may be? Is this something a reasonably handy person can attempt (not a mechanic by any means) or should I just take it to the repair shop?
Thanks.

Open the trunk and close the latch itself (don't close the trunk). just use a screwdriver to close the metal "hook" that moves when you close the trunk.
Push the button and see if the latch releases. If not, then check the solenoid. Just because it is clicking doesn't mean it works. There can be a click, but the actuator does not move. It should be easy to replace.
