Default 2007 V6 engine replacement

My 2007 Accord v6 engine (90,000 miles) had a spark plug and coil blow out. The end of the spark plug shot into the cylinder, damaging the piston and walls. The Honda dealership did the original diagnosis, so I had a second opinion which confirmed the damage - although not as bad as the dealership said.
Cylinder compression is 150, compared to the cylinder next to it at 180. I've taken great care of the car and engine, but it sounds like I need a new engine.

Anyone know the best place for a great rebuilt engine? Has this happened to anyone else? Any other ideas on just repairing this engine? The mechanic will be getting back to me today with options, but it seems like an engine replacement is the way to go.

Thanks a lot for any help/advice.

I'd look for a nice motor from a bone yard, V6 motors in your vintage are quite plentiful.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. I'll talk with the mechanic. Does suck having to replace a great motor.

You can find used motors near you using car-part.com and go by to inspect (stored on pallet or outside in wrecked car?). I also asked for donor car VIN and used carfax to get some idea of use, how many owners, any service records, etc.

good luck
