Default 2008 honda accord starts and stalls right away

hey folks drove my 2008 honda accord today worked great came home car sat for a wile went out to go somewheres and started it and it stalled right away....tried again same thing...checked oil it was low almost 2 Quarts so i toped it off and tried to start again same thing start then stall tryed again a few times same thing....do you think i cooked the motor? i thought it would atleast start up and run like **** if i did...but this just happened outta the blue after it was running fine

If this is a 4 cylinder, my guess is that due to the low oil levels, you have a stretched timing chain. The timing chain auto-tensioner relies on oil pressure to keep proper tension. The Check Engine Light will most likely be lit and a trouble code of P0341 probably stored. One thing leads to another.

ouch very well could be that...after searching the net i thought it could have been the ignition switch after trouble shooting the through the steps of that my battery went dead lol sooo i gotta wait for the morning for a boost...theres one last hope i need to try is my spear key.....might be a long shot but im HOPEING it a defective key fob if not your probally right

Need engine codes stall could be for several reasons, do you hear the fuel pump running when you turn the key to the ON position?

yup fuel pump was running...there was no check engine light on before this happened and im not sure if its on now cause the car wont stay started long enough to see if it stays on

its just so weird that happened with no warning symptoms at all just happened thats why I'm praying its a defective key fob...yeah it was very low on oil but not even a oil light or anything? i find that weird

you will have to open the tank via the gas cap and listen to it running after the engine stalls.. if it stalls and the pump is not running, you know what is up.


I had this happen to a 86 sable it would intermittently stall and then one day it just ran and shut right off after a few monets.

and the veridic is.....deffictive key fob!!!! wow that though me for a loop! i guess the anti theft was engaging not letting the car start glad thats all it was i guess now i gotta figure out why its burning so much oil hmmmm
