Just purchased as pre owned certified 2009 accord LX and drove it for the first time at night. With the headlights on, the back lighting for the panel that has the radio/cd/ac/heat/fan speed is not illuminating. Dealer tells me there is no backlighting for this model? I this true? I find it hard to believe. My other 3 Hondas have backlighting and they are from 2005.

There is nothing in the owners manual for this car or my 2005 Ody and 2008 Civic. No references to backlights at all so hard for me tor prove that it should be working.

Any info or advice?

 

Sorry, I call "BS". Ask them to see/drive any 08-12 Accord and show you there is no back light. I'll bet a cup of coffee there is...then if this is a dealer and they sold a "certified" car to you this way.......I can tell you what kind of fun I would have with them.

Just me but at the very least.....they fix the issue on there dime, knock 1K (ok maybe $500) off the price of the car....and I won't report them to the BBB and Honda of America...or take them to court.

PS- welcome to HAF......If I need to dig up wire diagrams to help with the case, let me know - can I assume this is a 4 cyl?
