Default 2009 Brake Issue?

Hi all. I'm considering buying this 2009 Accord.

Would you advise against it, considering all the bad reports I've read about brake issues for the 2009-2010 Honda Accords? Looks like there was a class action suit attempt and some meager attempts to address it financially by Honda.

Or...if there are ideas you have to workaround any brake issues, that might help me have confidence to buy the car. I'm test-driving it soon. I figured 39K miles and a price near 16K seems good for this model with lots of good features...would you agree or not?

Any advice appreciated. Anyone "love" the 2009 Accord? I'd be happy to hear of any comments!

Here is the car...

The original OEM rear brake pads that came with the car wore fast. Honda later revised the brake pad material, etc.

The rear brake settlement period is essentially over.

There are various threads on this forum related to it. Not really a reason to not get the car if you like it.

You can read more about it here, or do a web search and find a gazillion hits.

Thanks redbull-1! I will try to do a better job searching in existing posts. I am a new user.

If I understand correctly, the replacement break pads are fine...it was just the original pads for the cars off the assembly line were bad (?). I'm going to do more research. Thanks for your vote of confidence.

I don't know if "bad" is the right word.... The way I understand it is they were softer material and wore out more quickly. People couldn't understand why rear brakes wore out sooner than front.
