2012 Accord 2.4 SE transmission solenoid Code P0966
Hi Guys
I need your help with tranny shifting
My car drives fine till I think gets hot and all of the sudden I lose the shifting while on 70 mpg and it did it also when I was on 3 gear in another time. Like you push gas while the transmission on N. The D light flashes and check engine light comes
took to O’Reily and the code was P0966
Transmission solenoid B. Honda Part # 28260-R90-004
my question is do you have a Real picture shows the location of this solenoid. ?
can I see this solenoid whiteout removing the air box ? Not mean to replace it without removing the airbox but at least can I see this solenoid without removing anything so at least I know what I need to remove to reach to it
thanks

A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve B is integrated with A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve C as an assembly. It is visible under the battery, to the left. Check the connector and wiring first.
Also, when was the last time the fluid was drained and filled?

the problem is that I found the black plug broke and was not connected. I went to the junk yard and got another similar black plug from a similar car and tested it and it fit. I spliced the wire and will know if this fixed the problem or not. The transmission fluid replaced just two month ago. Thanks again

Let us know how it turns out. I would think it was due to the damaged connector. I have not experienced or heard of a bad solenoid as a common problem on the 8th generation Accords. I have an 8th gen Accord.

Hope i am not stepping on any toes when i say this But,,SMTY2012 you seem to be very knowledgeable ,,since you saw that plug was broken and not connected
for solenoid valve b and that's the code, why would you continue to do other work on the issue ?? I would think with your experience you would fix that first and recheck
if issue was fixed ,,But than again i am not as experienced as you guys are .

More inputs is always encouraged
i reinstalled the dual liner solenoid and and took the car for a short test drive. It was fine and no leaks at least so far.
I’m going to a friend in the weekend who’s 80 miles away so it will be better test. Thanks
