2012 accord

I just bought the 2012 accord coup 2.4l automatic i'm not sure this is normal or not but the rpm on my accord goes high when i accelerate in other words it takes a while before the gears change.Please help.

Maybe just the nature of a smaller engine in a heavier car. But I can't see from here how high the RPM is gooing. Maybe a dealer will let you compare by test-driving another 4-cyl Accord?
