Default 2012 Accord SE: remote starter kit install

Hi there, I have a quick question, does my 2012 Accord has to be installed at the dealer only?

I read a link (at home) that the safety / theft feature has to be disabled for
install?

The kit I bought has the starter kit and attachment kit.

Thanks

Rey

(yes I searched and saw one thread that's over 3 years old didn't think of bumping up that thread)

The Honda remote starter does not need to be installed by the dealer; but, it is highly recommended. However, for the remote starter to function after it is installed, you probably will have to go to the dealer for programming.
