Do I have this correct? You have both an CR-Z and a CR-V? And it works in the CR-V?
Yes, I have a CR-V, but it is a 2004 without any type of built in nav/bluetooth. I purchased Motorola Roadster Bluetooth speaker that sits on my driver's side visor. Handsfree usage of it for phone andreading of incoming texts. This works (the text feature) when my phone sits in the Bionic Car Dock.

Motorola Roadster Handsfree Bluetooth In-car Speakerphone - Motorola Mobility LLC. USA

BTW, I reset my Bluetooth on the Bionic using a terminal app to erase any stored settings. Note that my Bionic is rooted. Outcome ... still no text.

I guess I could take the car in to the service department, but I just got it and I'm having too much damn fun with the Z. I have a feeling they would not be able to fix it anyway.

Thank you, Redbull-1, I will certainly talk to my service department about the TSB!

I believe I have all the settings as described in the image you attached.

I had another thought, since it seems like it takes a very long time when I Select Account (it says "downloading" a very long time), I cleaned up my texts so I have less then 200 left. No improvement, unfortunately.

Hi thanks for your input - If your speaking of phone contact list being greyed out (inoperative) that is not my experience with my 13 accord coup. List operates when stopped and in park with motor on. Just not when in motion. Oddly if you move to any name on list while stopped, it does continue to work when in motion forone call. I will check if it works at a stop light and report back. I am scheduled for software update next weds so we will see. My wife is still miffed she cannot use contact list as a passenger. Guess Honda never thought of that. BTW, I don't believe for a second that this is done for driver safety as primary motivator, more for Honda legal safety I expect despite their inclusive diclaimer when you turn car on. My 09 accord worked while driving to use contact list and for the life of me I cannot recall plowing into anyone while using it.

I haven't updated in awhile and have a bit of news.

I was still in the state where the phone settings were correct, but the 'select account' dialog appeared to be timing out and then the text/email dialog was grayed out.

It also never alerted me or read my texts, despite having those feature turned on.

While I was on my long drive, a box suddenly popped up saying my phone supported emails/texts, would I like to turn that feature on! I was stunned, that had never happened before.

I told it "yes", then it paused for awhile and told me my phone didn't support email.

I had my wife send me a text and another window popped up saying my phone didn't support email.

I didn't want to keep getting errors, so I turned the text/email feature off for now.

My car goes in next Tuesday because the trunk leaks in one corner and I will ask them about TSB # 13-001 while I'm there and let everyone know what happens.

A bit of a read and it is for a razr, but it gives some insight into what appears to be Moto removing some BT capabilities.

I just upgraded my Bionic to JellyBean with hopes of it correcting my issues. Fat chance. Actually, HFL will do the phone calls, but not only is the text feature still fubar, transferring my contacts list to the address book is also kaput. Guessing I'll just have to settle for the handsfree phone function.

They put on TSB # 13-001 yesterday and no change, so I'm punting this until I get a new phone in 6 or 8 months. Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions.

Good news! My Droid Bionic upgraded to Android 4.1.2 this week and now text messaging works! So, this one is solved!

Kasey, my Bionic was one of the early receivers of the new 4.1.2 update a few weeks back. Naturally, one of the first things I did was to check on the text feature in my Honda. To no avail.

I figured it was my specific phone or Navi or whatever.

After seeing your post I knew that it should work. I discovered that an old setting in my Titanium backup app had a couple of Bluetooth items still frozen. Well, nothing to lose by turning them back on.

Rebooted the phone and bingo, text now works for me, too. Happy, happy. Joy, joy.
