I have a 2013 Accord with 110K miles and recently some of the dashboard lights came on. Took the car to an independent repair shop for code read-outs - ABS 81-19 and 81-20. They mention that it is a common issue on Accord's 2013 and gave an estimate of over 2K (ouch!!). They also mention there is a backlog of over 7 months for this particular part. Any suggestions on what would be best approach to get this fixed. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or recommendations.

 

Look at the estimate for the work. I think that sensor is part of the abs modulator. The shop is likely quoting you to replace the whole abs unit with a new unit. You can take a shot and replace with a used unit. I'm not sure of the root cause of the fault, but there may be a diy on the web on how to repair the faulty electrical component in the abs module.
