Default 2015 Accord manual tranny "road" noise

Hi,

I just picked up a 2015 Accord EX 6-sp manual transmission with 144500 miles on it. It is in great condition. Rides smooth and doesn't feel like there's any problems at all. However, there is a noise which annoys me, and I'm not sure if this is normal. I didn't catch it during the test drive. The best I can describe the noise is that it is like driving on a washboard. Or, if you can imagine, the noise a card in the spokes of a bicycle makes. The noise is not loud, and may be normal. Any of you have this noise, if not, what might it be? I'm hoping it's not wheel bearings or cv joints.

The noise is very faint. When I just rev the engine in neutral, I do not hear the noise. I hear it only when driving. I tried to record, doesn't pick it up. Tires are fairly new Good Year Assurance. Looks in very good condition.

Anyone else hear a washboard-like noise in your manual transmission?

Not sure if this is the issue, but the first thing I'd check is the rear tires. If you have the directional Assurance TripleTred tires, pretty good bet they are making noise; so, the question is, which version of the Assurance tires do you have? Regardless, I'd have them checked for feathering.

Thanks. I have Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. I did not see any marking that they were directional. The tires also look brand new, no feathering or cupping. There were some little pebbles stuck in the tread. I've owned other cars before, and never had to worry about pebbles in tire treads. I've removed what pebbles I could, and will listen again on the way home later. I guess when I get a chance, I'll at least check the rear bearings. The front is going to be a pain to check the bearings.

Front bearings make a noise you won't forget. Not to mention it gets louder as speed increases.

I had the rear wheel bearings gradually fail on both my Accord and my TL (almost identical parts on both cars), they are a fairly common failure point and really easy to replace.

Yup, just did the rears on my Corolla want to be (a Geo Prizm). One of them felt like it had a "square" bearing in it.
