There seems to be a rattling noise on the drivers side that stops when I turn off the fan. I changed the cabin filter under glove box but sounds doesn't sound like it is coming from there.

 

It is possible that a piece of debris is stuck in the fan cage. You should be able to unplug the electrical connector for the fan assembly and the fan will be held in by 3 bolts or screws. You can look for debris between the fan and filter, then clean the fan cage.
