Default 2016 Accord-manual + oil filter

Are there online service manuals for this car? Do you require a special oil filter for synthetic oil?

Nope, just buy a Honda, Napa, Wix, Fram, whatever, you'll be good to go.

I have fram filters from my 06 that are the same number as what is specified for my 2016. I had used regular oil in 2006. I guess I'm asking because when I went to return the filters to the store for my 06 as I didn't know they fit my 2016, there were other fram filters with the same number but I believe had XG in front and the description said specially designed for synthetic oil.

A quick google search on the XG vs regular filter was the XG is better construction and would last longer than the regular. How many miles are you putting on the car between oil changes?

I think about 10,000 km so 6,000 miles. I had 300,000km on my 2006 accord before my son totaled it using standard oil and the regular fram filters. But the old car took 5w20 standard oil while the newer one uses 0w20 synthetic, not sure that matters.

The weight oil shouldn't matter. I recommend some online searching about regular vs XG fram filters. Ultimately, you will have to decide which filter to use. Look up the oil flters on Fram's website for your car to get a good description about the different tier filters.

Thanks. The original filter worked no problem so unless the synthetic oil makes a difference than I can't see why I would spend double the price on a filter.
Anybody else have a filter brand recommendation/comment?
