Default 2017 Accord has a 1 inch tear in the rear bumper.

Can it be fixed? If not, where is the best place to buy a replacement rear bumper?

Thanks,

Al

I've seen kits where you melt plastic into the damage with a heated spatula, but haven't used them myself. I'd probably make a messy gob of plastic & end up with an ugly repair, requiring a lot of sanding & finishing. Have a go at it & let us know - I'd be interested to know how difficult it is. I don't think it can do any further damage to prevent replacing the bumper skin.

Default Thanks for the suggestion

Given my current situation, it may be worth trying. If it doesn't work I am still in the same boat. If it does work it will save me 1K.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Al

I think it'll be easy to make a functional repair. It'll be difficult to make a perfect (cosmetically invisible) repair. I've done something similar with bondo but its not flexible so I wish I had known about those kits at the time.
