Hello All, we have a 2017 Accord that has just had its condenser changed since then the single fan will not run. I pulled a vacuum on the system and charged the best i could. but because the system got hot, this made charging the AC difficult because as the temperature built up so did the pressure. The fan has two connectors a three pin and a 2 pin. the two pin looks to have 6.2mm flat terminals so I'm guessing this is the motor supply. the other looks like a sensor with a 5v, ground and sensor level. I also still haven't managed to identify the relay yet.
is there any strange logic on the fan control?
There are a couple of fuses that seem to be missing and we suspect that this could have been from taking the car to a local mechanic. We didn't get work done because we were quoted $900 for a condenser change, and when we tested the old condenser it wasn't actually leaking. so something else is...
I don't have a 2017 accord shop manual, so post a pic of the back of the fuse box with the diagram to see what is missing.
With the 5 wire setup, I can't imagine how that would work to vary the fan speed. Maybe it is a temperature sensor for cooling or maybe some kind of resistance sensor to alert you the fan stopped working?
Your accord should have 2 fans on the radiator. Is one of the fans working properly? I'm a bit confused by your description.
The 2017 Hybrid has one large combined radiator and a/c condenser fan motor, not two.
Check under-dash Fuse No. B11 (10A); this supplies power to the RFC Unit and PCM. Different Hybrid trims have slightly different circuits; so, the fuses may differ.
