Hi guys, new member and first post.

A few weeks ago my drivers side headlight assembly was hit by flying debris when driving and cracked the assembly. Head lights and turn signals continues to work for about a week until it rained and got some moisture inside the assembly.

Once that happened, that headlight stopped working, just the LED but highbeam still worked, and all turn signals and hazards stopped working. I also got the error message in the dash that said something to the effect of headlights not working to full capacity or something to that effect.

I ordered a new headlight assembly and installed it today as well as disconnected the negative thermal on the battery for a while to clear the error message. Now the headlights work fine but the turn signals and hazards are still not working, both sides and front and back. Also when I arm the alarm the yellow lights don’t flash.

I googled the issue but didn’t get any hits for my year or model accord.

Does this sound like either a rely or fuse issue? If so, I need help to locate those fuses or relays to check and/or replace them. I’m not much of a DIY guy or mechanic, but I was able to remove the front bumper and replace the headlight assembly myself, so I figure I might be able to do the fuse or relay as well. I’m trying to avoid a huge charge from the dealer or outside shop for something that might be a simple fix.

I'd start with checking the fuse. Unfortunately, I don't have a 2019 shop manual, I only have up to 2010, but the electronics are similar on all accords.

The turn signals and hazards run off the same relay. Look at your owner's manual for the turn signal/hazard fuse, or you can look under the fuse box cover for some information on the fuses. Pull that fuse to see if it is blown. If blown, replace with the same amp fuse.

 

Thanks. Would that most likely be the one in the driver compartment or the one under the hood? I’ll check the owners manual tomorrow and see if I can locate any info in it.

Surprisingly, I can’t seem to find much on google about the fuse diagram/locations for this model. I did find one diagram online, but it didn’t mention turn signals on the diagram list.

 

It is the #19 fuse in the engine bay fuse box and is a 15A fuse. The label is hazard.

That was it. I pulled the fuse and sure enough it was blown. Inside that box theare we’re actually a few back up fuses, so I put another 15 in the socket and it works. Signals, hazards and the yellow alarm lights are now working.

Well problem was easily solved with your help and now I know where to look in the futere should I have that issue again.

I'm glad it was a simple fix. Hopefully the water that go in the headlight caused a short.

If the fuse blows again, you will have to look at the wiring or connectors for signs of shorting, like black soot on the wires or any bare wires.

 

I’m pretty confident that it was the water that got in the assembly. When I had the bumper off and was changing the assembly all the wiring looked pretty mint still. The car is not even two years old yet and only has 40K miles on it. However, if it does blow again I’ll probably have to take it in as that will be above anything I can do at home.
