2nd gear slipping on automatic gearbox
The 2nd gear is slipping on the 4-speed automatic gearbox fitted to a 2000-model UK-model (2.3 SOHC VTEC) Honda Shuttle - which is known as the Honda Odyssey in the USA.
Engine type is F23A7. I don't know what the gearbox type is - where should I look?
If I only want another year out of it, does the whole box have to be replaced? Is there some kind of internal adjustable tensioner on the bands? Is it possible to replace the band(s) without special tools? Better still, can something be done without taking the gearbox out of the car?
If not, can anyone with access to the part numbers suggest what Honda models (Accord?) a gearbox could be sourced from, as Shuttles aren't particularly easy to find in breaker's yards?

1) a proper signature will get you answers from members here
2) wikipedia search for "honda transmissions" will get you the tranny code
3) no bands on a Honda tranny
4) you will most likely need a 1-2 clutchpack which involves pulling the tranny and engine.
