Default 5th generation. How many miles do the original fuel filters last?

Pretty sure the one in my 1997 is original. 172k miles. Runs great, engine has no hesitation.

Leave filter alone or replace?

Seems like a cheap piece of routine maintenance.

But then, the following year Honda doesn't even have a fuel filter in the 1998 Accords. Only the screen in the tank (mesh bag for the pump inlet).

What is the factory recommended change interval for the fuel filter for 5th generation?

It's running fine, so if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Yup. I've looked around and never found a "change by mileage". As long as you run good fuel, you should never need to change it. By good fuel, I mean fuel without water in it, as water clogs the filter media.
