Default 6 spd manual tranny

Okay So I have aquestion for you all an old family friend just bought a 05 Accord v6, manual tanny, the car it self is a write off but the engine and tranny are untouched, he has offered me the tranny for a price I can't refuse! what my question is i have a 6th gen v6 auto would like to change over to manual, I know I will need clutch pedal assembly (hydrolics etc) plus the shifter and linkages, my concern is with theecu since it is programed to run with an auto and will not run well if at allwith the swap can I use theecu from the 05 or do I need to find someone to reprogram my original ecu. Or would swaping the whole engine tranny from 05 to mine with ecu be easier.

Thanks for your help!

I'd probablybe easier to swap the whole drivetrain over. Engine/tranny and ecu. It's gonna take a lot of work though. Make sure you pull everything you can off of it. Pedals, ecu, shift linkage, clutch lines, mounts, wire harness...you get the idea.

you cannot use his ECU, you need an ECU from a manual car that is from your generation.

Well considering they never made a manual v6 from 98-02 that isn't exactly an option for him now is it.

What makes you so sure he can't use the ECU?

Well unfortunatly the engine is already sold soI won't beable to get the engine or wiring harness, i guess I will just have to figure out what todo with the ecu since it's programed to run the car withthe auto and as I've been told the car won't runwith out the signals that comefrom the auto if any one has a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated?
