Both the hazard flasher and the turn signals abruptly stopped. I checked the bulbs and fuses (OK) and replaced the flasher relay (under dash/driver side).The turn signals work until you move the hazard switch to "on" then everything stops again. After awhile the turn signals begin working but not the hazard. Hit the hazard button and everything stops again. Is there a separate hazard relay (if so, where) or are they combined in one? Any idea what the problem is?

My knowledge is based off of the 95 accord, so your 87 may be different. The online manuals thread in the DIY section has a spoon link I posted that has an 86-89 shop manual you can download.

The turn signal and hazard use the same relay in my car. It sounds like your problem is with the hazard switch on top of the steering column. You might want to clean out the electrical connection to see if that solves the problem before replacing.

 

I don't have a schematic in front of me right now, however I think the problem is the contacts in the combo switch under the steering wheel.
