88 Accord 5sp LX Coolant leak

Default 88 Accord 5sp LX Coolant leak

Need a little help. I have a Radiator fluid leak. I can see the leak...so I replaced a section of those hose... Look at it this morning and still leaking. Trying to figure out if this project beater car is a complete waste. This hose goes over a tube that comes out from the motor.

I have taken more apart then I have ever in my life with this car. I am still working to get the transmission bolted up completely after new clutch and flywheel.

Ok...so here are some photos to help show where my fluid issue is at. Any help would be great!

Is that the right side hose you have on that fitting? Is coolant running down off of something above? Is the clamp on the hose all the way around?

The hose I had purchased before was not the right size...It would not come close to fitting so I took part of the old hose off and into the parts store where they fitted me up. The hose is almost right agaist the block. The clamp is on there good.

What else is above there that can leak? There is nothing I see above this section that seems to be dripping. This was the same spot where the fluid was before that brought me to change the hose for that section. The front end of the car is up in the air on Jack stands. Not if that make much of a difference. It has not been started for several months.

Hmmmmmm, those screw type clamps don't squeeze in a perfect circle, and the hose may not be an actual metric size.
My best suggestion, pull the hose back off clean off the fitting with brake clean to dry it, swipe on a good amount of Hondabond/Ultragrey, let it sit 20 minutes to get tacky while ya dry out the hose.
Then reassemble.
Wait 1/2 hr before starting engine.
The only thing above that is the carb base plate, it's a "wet base".
They use the coolant to warm the carb.

Hondadude,

Thank you for that info. At this point I will try anything. The car has not been started for a while and hoping to have it done by the end of this new week...and before this last week, ect :-( Nothing on this car has gone to gether with ease.
