88 accord DX Auto runs ruff
Bought this car from my buddy, Was leaking oil badly, power steering fluid, and missing at an idle he had replaced the plugs cap, rotor and wires, his mechanic had him replace the muffler, then the carb. I fixed the oil leaks and the power steering but I had a vacuum leak I changed about 12 feet of vacuum hose, fixed the vacuum leak but it still runs very ruff at idle it misses on cly #2 I can pull the plug wire off with little difference at an idle, so I checked the compression, 150,120,120,150 i shot some oil in the low cyl and got 180, another thing all of the plugs were white not brown or oil fouled not tan but white, the car has plenty of power 146,000 miles ( I have had these with 250,000 without compression issues) it seems to me that 30 psi is to much but shouldn't the low cylinders still fire as low as 110? the car does surge when trying to hold 20-25 MPH sometimes and there is slight vibration while driving ( my keys buzz a little) no real shaking. all of the tune up parts and the carb and muffler were replaced trying to fix the missing. is this car done or is there hope? it does not smoke. any help would be greatly appreciated, the car still looks good for it's age drives nice too was going to give it to my son for a first car.
thank you

The middle two cylinders are on the low side. When you did the compression, did you pull the fuel pump fuse and push the gas pedal all the way to the floor?

I would assume the float was set where ever the Carb was built or rebuilt, the car still acts the same as prior to replacing the carb, it runs out fine has plenty of power I think if the floats were set to low it would cause issues at wide open throttle, but it goes when you step on it. I would still suspect vacuum leak but I can spray allot of carb cleaner all around the intake with no idle change, however when you spray it down the carb throat the rpm picks up and the motor runs more smoothly for a short time.
thank you for your help
