Default 88 accord high idle when cold

Hi , still driving our 88 lx that we bought from mother in law. It's a five speed and has been reving higher than normal and a lot longer than normal when cold. Have always been able to tap accelerator a few times to drop idle, but no more. Has to run up to normal temp and be there a while before it drops down. thanks from an old honda lover.

Choke is not releasing. We have some late 80's accord guru's who will help later.

Here's one who doesn't miss carbuerator's or distributors; good riddance.

regards

First, please be sure you have a good manual. There is a thread at the top, "Common DIY Threads" where you can get a pretty good one.

In that manual, look at the fast idle unloader tests. Willing to bet you'll find your solution there.
