Default AC blows cold at speed/not cold at idle

2003 Accord v4. Recently my AC has started acting weird. At speed AC blows cold, everything seems fine. At idle very little cold air comes out. Other wierd thing is even though the dual AC is not set passenger side always seems cooler. Both fans are running at idle.

It might just be low on refrigerant. But it's not a good idea to simply add without measuring pressures. And find & fix any leaks.

Gonna do this yourself? Best way is get a gauge set to measure BOTH high & low side pressures. Your problem might be caused by a flow obstruction somewhere & you won't know that if you just add refrigerant.

BEST way is to have a shop evacuate it completely, & add refrigerant by weight.

Make sure both radiator and condensor cooling fans are running when AC compressor is engaged. Lack of cooling fan flow will cause poor performance at idle.

Variation is cooling from side/side does suggest low refrigerant level, but only a pressure check w/ gauge set can confirm.

good luck
