My son bought an 88 Accord lxi fuel injected, he's planning on fixing up. Long story short, the fuel system was pretty rusted due to car sitting for 6 years. We've got a new fuel tank and fuel pump, but I cannot find a sending unit anywhere online. Not even a used one within 150 miles of us. Does anyone know where I might find one?! I see one for a 1990 that looks very similar, but as far as I know these models were from 85-89. Thanks in advance for any info!

 

Do you still have the original sending unit? Ebay is an option. car-part.com will search salvage yards. I've had some odd parts shipped to me from across the country when I needed a part.

 

I've tried eBay, car-part has them but they're pretty far away, I guess I'll have to call them to get one shipped! Still have the original, thinking about trying to restore it.

 

If the original part works, then you should use it. If it doesn't work, you may be able to swap the internals from a newer accord (like the 90-93) to get it working.

I've had items shipped from junkyards found on car-part, and shipping wasn't too bad. I'd hold on to that original part to rebuild if you can't find a sending unit at a reasonable price. The other option is to try a u-pull-it junkyard. You should be able to find an 86-89 accord donor vehicle, but you may want to call or check out their website before wasting a trip.

 

have not seen one of those setup forever but i thought in the lxi sending unit was part of fuel pump , you buy a fuel pump comes complete with sending unit ,,.cannot recall for sure
