Default 89 accord wont start but will turn strong (possible fuel pump)

I have an 89 Honda Accord DX (carb) and i am having starting issues. i have spark, good power, it turns over but nothing. I hear the fuel pump but i only started to listen to it after turning the key 10x. the pump turns on for 1 second maybe almost 2 seconds. i swear from my celica i had it was suppose to be longer than that but i dont know if the time staying on has to do with the fact that ive turned the key so many times and now the lines are fully pressured so it shuts off that quick... please help!

The pump will only run for a "few seconds" until it starts..I'd call it two maybe three.

Reg maint items, are they up to date-cap, rotor, plugs. When was the t-belt last changed. Also you are sure there is good spark at the plugs.

So, please confirm there is fuel in the tank first. You can get to the pump VERY easily. There is a panel in the trunk on the left/drivers side-forward of the spare tire (2 dr, 4 dr, 2 dr hatch?). Pull the elect connector, have a friend turn the key and see if you are getting power to the pump....Start there and let us know what you find. There are more steps once we can get a few things out of they way-sight glass on the side of the carb, relay, two fuel filters, ect....I feel bad for the delay in an answer....had my own issues (89 LXi yesterday..car vs deer-I say the car won).
