Yea i figured it out, Its my fuel filters. I didnt realize it until i stopped a guy from O'Reilly Auto Parts at this store we were at. I explained the issue and his first question was how old the car was, after i told him 89, his instant reply was asking if i knew were my fuel rail was, i told him yea, he told me to push down on some diaphragm on the fuel rail to see if it was spitting or spraying. He said if it was spitting, replace the filter. So of course i started running through things in my head and realized that it started shortly after fueling up at the shell station down the road from the store i was currently at. SO i thought i'd try it out, you know, what would it hurt? So i went to autozone and picked up a universal performace fuel filter, sure enough, as soon as i replaced my aux fuel filter all sorts of rust and dirt blasted its way into the filter. (its see through, thats the main reason i got it. the other reason is it has replaceable filter packs.) SO what i gather from that is that somehow my main fuel filter (at the rear of the car, apparently my model has 2) has failed and all the rust and what not was blocking the gas from getting to the engine. Why do i come to that conclusion? I was trying to drive it around to see if anything i was doing was making a difference and it died....dropped to 200 RPM's after applying the brake and died. So i immediately turned around and went back home. Only to get halfway there and discover that the car is starting to run normally. I pull into my driveway to discover that its purring like a kitten. Running exactly how it should be. Why do i think the main fuel filter failed...cause i shouldnt be getting so much crud up into the aux one.

My question now is...Should i get the stock main fuel filter, another filter like the one i installed up front (only concern here is that the outer shell is made of glass), or get an inline that has no glass from an aftermarket dealer?

I'd get the OE style (plastic) from an aftermarket store (CARQUEST, NAPA) or someplace like that. The main one, behind the drivers rear tire, is not a place I' like to have a glass style filter. The last one(s) I replaced were both plastic.
Glad to see you are back in business and running well, Thanks for the update.
