Default 8th Gen Homelink Buttons

Can anyone tell me if the Homelink buttons on my 2008 Accord EXL V6 are still active and will work after the vehicle is shut off and the ignition key is removed? I haven't programed them to open the garage yet as I leave my car parked outside at night and don't want someone to be able to open the garage door if they were to be able to get into the car.

Homelink can work even when the car is shut off. Power (+) is always hot and ground source (-) is present at all times.

Yup like Redbull states mine works all the time opening the garage, car in any state. Guess I never really think of it as I do not always lock the doors. Well if anybody decides to come in they'll be greeted by my 95 pound fury friend.

Does it make a difference?

Most of us leave the garage remote in the car if we don't have HomeLink. So unless you don't keep any remote in the car or take it out every night when you park, you still have the same situation should somebody ever break into your car.

Exactly...Actually better off having the buttons in the car instead of a remote hanging off your visor. Many people wouldn't even realize the car can open the garage but if you see the remote control, dead give away. I actually have one button work home and a second open the "camp" door "up north." Real convenient.

Thanks for the verifying the Homelink is always hot. I won't program it to open the garage door then.
