Default 91 accord eld code

going on my 3rd honda accord. never had problems till now. 91 accord turns on with low idle once she's warmed up idle picks up to about 1200rpms. drive good but after about 30 mins of drive she starts stalling and turns off . i got 2 codes. one is code 20 which is the eld. not sure what that is . the other is the o2 sensor. check engine light turns off at high idle {5-6000 rpms} when idle drops down the check engine llight turns back on.

ELD = electric load detector

I think this is part of the engine bay fuse box.

Check the wiring at the O2 sensor connector.

I posted a link to a 91 shop manual in the online manuals thread in the DIY section. The fuel/emissions chapter has the engine codes listed and references to the page numbers of the troubleshooting procedures.

what causes the eld to go off. is it a bad distributor or is it my fuse box. why does my check engine light go off at high idle.

I looked at the list of codes for the 91 accord, and there is no code 20. On my 95 there is a code 20 for the ELD.

You should recheck the code(s) and post both codes on here. You may be misreading them. You can either count the flashes on the LED or short the service connector behind the passenger side kick panel and count the actual check engine light flashes after you turn the key to the II position.

A long blink =10, short=1
