91 accord ex-r, windshield washer fluid not spraying??
Hi everyone,
I can't seem to get the windshield fluid to spray. I have tested the windshield fluid pump and it works. For some reason the fluid pump motor isn't getting power from the engine? I also changed the switch inside the car. And of course the fuses.
What can be another reason for no power getting to the pump?
I was thinking maybe the ground is weak. Wheres the ground for the washer pump?
Thanks

Washer has ground supply in connector (black wire). G301 is the ground, but you will need a shop manual and diagram to locate on driver's side front of engine.
Have you checked fuse 6 in the under-dash fuse box?
Otherwise, you will need to trace wiring harness looking for break in blk/yel power supply.
good luck

on my '93 windshield sprays weren't working. Looked long and hard for electrical, plugging issues.
Then found the answer: the hoses that carry the fluid (under the hood) to the spray nozzles weren't secured anymore;
they were loose and getting pinched by the rubber hood gasket as hood was closed.
Pinched hose = no spray.
Answer: use duct tape to move the hoses up farther away from the windshield as you look at the engine compartment.
<Duct tape under the hood doesn't show.>
hope yours is so easy.

I got around to looking at this problem with my washer fluid and I got it to work... but only for one time. I found the g301 ground box but I didn't have time to pull the washer tank out to get at it. So I started fiddling with the under-hood fuse/relay box and then tried the washer pump and it worked. I was happy to have found the problem and put away everything and lowered the car.
But when I went to activate the washer pump again, it didn't work. So I figured that the same BLK/YEL wire I was wiggling in the plug needed to be wiggled again and it would work again. But I couldn't get the washer to work again after wiggling it like 5 times. Then I ran out of time.
So I'm wondering what the heck??? Is the BLK?YEL wire I found coming out of the under-hood fusebox the wire for the washer pump? It was coming out of a plug that had two other wires next to it in a row. And there was white gunk in where the wires went into the plug. Is this normal? I pulled out the plug too and there seems to be built up white hard calcium or something inside the plug connectors. Should I clean this some how?
Any advice would be awesome.
Thanks guys. I don't expect any reply's today since its Superbowl Sunday
Enjoy the game everyone

The Blk/Yel power wire comes from a wire harness connected to the back of the interior under-dash fuse box, via a 10-P brown connector.
There is also a Grn/Blk power wire coming from the Combination Switch that is spliced into the washer motor circuit.
The white gunk at the connector plug is lithium dielectric grease.

Ok, this is really embarrassing and I can't believe I'm gonna post it but I gotta do it. So the problem to this one was.... here it goes.... The washer switch that I was pushes upwards was actually suppose to be pulled towards me... yep, that's it. Very embarrassing. The arrow of the switch arm or whatever appeared me that it should be activated by pushing it upwards but all I had to do was pull it towards me and bingo, the washer was pumped no problem............Ok, let me have it......
No problem redbull, you guys are awesome and it's the least I could do... I looked at my switch today and I was actually pushing the switch arm down cause the arrow on the switch points down not up like I said before.
But the weird thing is that when you push the arm down the wipers come on but no washer which is why I thought the washers didn't work. Bottom line, the switch arm should have been pulled towards me to activate the washer and auto turning the wipers on.
