Any intake air leak can cause idle cycling.

Check all vacuum lines and vacuum supply ports for leaks. Check PCV valve/hose for faults. Check vacuum brake booster line. If all checks find nothing, check for intake manifold leaks by spraying throttle body cleaner while listening for a change in idle speed/sound.

good luck

Opened it up and the valve was just sitting in there, screwed it down and it fixed the "hunting" idle issue, idles at about 900 when warm. Thanx Again!

I don't have the specs. for the 4th generation Accords (i.e.,1990-1993); but, some of the 5th generation Accords idle should be 550 (+ or - 50) rpm; so, that sounds about right. The 4th and 5th gen Accord 4 cylinders engines were relatively similar.

My 1993 idles in gear at 600 rpm when warmed up. In park, it idles at about 750 to 800 rpm. I thought that was a bit low, but the service mgr at Honda says it is correct for the car. I think there is a tune up spec plate on the inside of the hood...That might also list the proper idle specs. Personally, I would prefer to have it idle a bit higher...Maybe 750 rpm in gear...to lessen vibration in the steering wheel at idle.

The 5th gen accords should idle at 750the rpm. Look at the sticker under your hood to see the proper idle.

On my 95, the scale on the tach didn't have a mark 250 rpm. So the marks were 0, 500, 750, 1000 rpm..... you might be at 700 rpm now
