Default 91 honda accord won't start-battery, a/c starter?

my 91 honda accord is temperamental with starting. sometimes i put the key in the ignition and turn and nothing happens, not even a click. and sometimes i turn and the dash lights up. and some of the time, i can start it right up. an engine fan has been coming on even when i haven't driven it and runs for hours. and sometimes it only runs for a few minutes. i have had two battery tests done. one says that it is low and bad at a 5.75 reading. one said it was good at a 12 reading. the alternator is good said both. the a/c worked when i bought it, but now it doesn't work.something must be draining the battery, but what? fuses-starter, a/c, cooling fan? fuse wires? or connection wires?

NEW INFORMATION
the radiator fan is on the driver's side, right? and the a/c fan is on the passenger fan? if this is true, than my radiator fan is operating, but my a/c fan is not. weird thing is happening though. i tried pulling some fuses to see if it was a bad fuse. when i pulled out the condenser fan 15A fuse in from the relay box, my radiator fan went off. i tried pulling fuse for a/c clutch relay 7.5A and putting a new one in. the a/c fan still did not come on. BTW, the a/c only blows hot air.

It sounds like the ignition switch. But first you can check the battery again. It should read 12.6V. If you can get a hold of a voltmeter you can do a lot of your own checks. Check battery Voltage, Check voltage while cranking, and while car is running.

Your 91 should have a cooling fan timer unit under left side of dash , may be stuck on or relay is stuck on I would check junk yard for both as diag can be tricky. Fan can run for 15 min. when under hood temp. is very hi but no longer. As far as startring have you checked for 12V at starter signel wire at time of cranking?

thank you for responding to my post. before i check under the dash for the cooling fan timer unit, i wanted to know- is it around the fuse box area or closer to the center console? and as far as the voltage at starter signal wire, the test was done by someone else. they used what i think is a voltmeter. they hooked it up to the battery from what i saw.

thank you for responding to my post. three questions...is the ignition switch connected to the starter wire? is the starter wire what i would need to test? and where is the starter wire located? -if i was able to get ahold of a voltmeter.

Yes the ignition switch connects to the starting wire, but you just need to test the battery. And to check for volatge drop you just have to check the battery while cranking.

Heres a good ETCG video showing how to check for Parasitic Draw Test through the whole car: How To Perform a Parasitic Draw Test - YouTube
