Default 92 lx auto, what is the transmission and what should I replace it with

I need to find the letter/number designation for my 92 accord lx auto 4dr. It is going out and I need to replace it, what do you suggest replacing it with (oem honda or aftermarket rebuilt?). Or possibly an upgradable honda tranny? I dont plan on doing anything to the motor, but after going at at 140k, I dont want to replace it again. Thanks!!

DO NOT buy from HONDA way way too expensive,, go with an aftermarket rebuilt tranny , or a used tranny if not planning to keep the car long ..

i will give you a phone # of the people i have been using for the past 10 years ,, this company used to do all the trannies for Honda,, ,, i have used dozens of their trannies over the past 10 years and have yet to have a problem

I got the # at the shop , i will get it to you tomorrow

Ok pal.......phone # 800-831-2223 www.hecreman.com
