The temp guage staying just below middle sounds about normal; the fact that the cooling fans run a short time is really a good sign 5-10 seconds is okay.
When they run for a long time it means there is slow coolant flow.

Thats good to know however as you guys know my AC dosent work so i have the windows open and can feel the engine heat, which lead me to believe that maybe the coolant is not circulating properly. Is there any DYI to check out the fan.

The DIY consists of figuring out why the fan doesn't work. Yours works, right?

If the temperature gauge goes above 1/2, then start worrying.
