Default 93 Accord LX passenger side mirror help

Trying to replace the cracked PASSENGER side mirror on my Honda Accord, but i am having no luck at all.

I found a nice one today at the J yard, but in the process of putting in on, i cracked this one also.

It it a power mirror, and i can see how the 2 springy looking white pieces go into the respective holes, but the round part will not slide on properly.

I was getting part of it in place , and then i applied too much pressure, and CRACK!

Has anyone mastered this replacement, and if so, can you share any tips you can give me.

I assume this mirror can be replaced with the mirror body still attached to the car?, or does it have it have to be removed.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you replacing just the glass?

Yes, the housing is still intact. Now, i have 2 cracked mirrors, and 1 mirror with no casing around it.

Is it possible to get 1 of the broken mirrors out of the enclosed plastic casing it is in, and fit this mirror (uncracked) into 1 of them?

Does the entire assembly need to be pulled off, or is there someway to get a new glass on it?

I understand where the 2 plastic pieces fit, but the round piece on the back of the mirror will not seem to attach to the white round piece that is affixed to the assembly.

I don't have experience with this type of repair. Here is the page from a shop manual that may help.

An entire mirror assy is fairly inexpensive; check ebay and amazon. Very simple repair.

good luck
