Default 93 Accord Manual??

Hi - I have 2 issues:

1) Had key made from glove box lock, but it will NOT start the car

2) Need help removing the trunk lock to see if key can be made from there.

Any explanation for #1 or help with #2???

Thanks from a single gal .....

Does the key that they made work any of the other locks on the car....door, trunk (I know you list that one but need to ask)?

oh, and welcome to HAF.

Sorry and to answer your question....I think there is a plastic cover you have to remove to "see" the lock in the trunk. Then there is a plastic clip holding the rod to the cyl, be very careful when removing that. Then there should be one 10mm head bolt.

Default New diagram?

Forgot to mention - The diagram is tough to follow, as I can't enlarge, etc. Can you send me a copy to my email?

I took off the one bolt, but it seems "stuck" and won't move, almost as if I have to pull the whole back off to get closer to it? I'm afraid to put too much force on anything since the car is so old.

I took out your e-mail address, don't want you to get spam

Members can e-mail each other, it uses the e-mail address you used to sign up.

Did the key that was lost work in all of the locks?

I also moved this to Gen Tech to give more members a chance to see it....not everyone gets into the New Member area.

Have you tried contacting a Honda dealer to see if they can look up the key code for your car based on the VIN and then cutting you a key. Some dealerships may still have that info.

Also, from the glove box lock cylinder, whoever made the replacement key, do you have the key code from them?

Red Bull - I will check with the locksmith, I'm sure she still has it - she is closed on Sundays, will call tomorrow - will that do any good?

The dealers say they don't have them recorded prior to 2001 (?) - I called their hotline and they offer only back to 2000 or 2001.
